Solana proposed an asynchronous execution improvement plan to optimize the Block confirmation mechanism.
Gate News bot message, Max Resnick, the chief economist of Solana ecosystem development company Anza, submitted an improvement proposal codenamed SIMD-0301 to the community, proposing the introduction of an asynchronous execution mechanism.
This proposal eliminates the bottleneck of validators replaying transactions within blocks in the consensus critical path through asynchronous execution. Under the new mechanism, validators can vote without waiting for transaction replay to be completed, which reduces the confirmation delay of the Alpenglow consensus mechanism and supports multi-leader concurrency and pipelined consensus.
This proposal is currently still in the draft stage, and its formal implementation requires meeting several prerequisites, with plans to execute it after the new Alpenglow consensus mechanism is enabled.
